I have several machines on all the time, and I decided to try to put all those wasted CPU cycles to good use.Folding@Home is a project from Stanford University that uses distributed computing to do protein folding and related tasks.
According to the site, some of this work couldn't even be done on the biggest supercomputers, because there just aren't enough cycles available.
